The Ramayana that I have decided to pursue the PDE Ramayana online option. What caught my interest about this option was that it was free and online, the two components made the book seem extremely accessible to me. In addition to that, I feel that the multiple reading styles would help me further down the line when it comes to the storybook. The first comic that had caught my attention was Vasantasena, A Dancer. Something that I particularly liked about this piece was that there are a lot of twists and turns within the story. The other aspect that I liked was the love story between Vasantasena and Charaudatta. The next piece that had peaked my interest was Garuda. I think that it's interesting that Vinata was too patient and had cracked one of the eggs too early, causing her son to not fully form. In addition to the actual stories, I find that I was attracted to both of the artwork for the stories. The first video that had caught my eye was, Ganga: The Goddess of the River, the goddess aspect was the first thing that caught my eye and obtained my interest. After watching the video, I was pleasantly surprised that she flowed free and pure in the realm of the gods. Another thing that I had liked was that she had cleansed the Earth as well. For my second video, I had chosen the Symbols of Divinity, because I felt that it would help me further my knowledge on the culture rather quickly. To my surprise, I had seen and recognized a lot of the symbols within the video like the lotus, chakra, and the conch. I found it fascinating to learn the meaning behind each of these symbols and I think that knowing the meaning will allow me to understand a lot more things about the culture and the beliefs.
